Why Go: This year on Mother’s Day, Sunday May 8th at 7pm, La Peña Cultural Center presents the students of La Casita Bilingue Montessori in Pinole, CA, and singer/songwriter Meli Rivera in the concert “Songs for every season: A Mother's Day Concert!”

Why Go: East Bay Improv actors perform spontaneous, impulsive and hilarious comedy on the first Saturday of every month. Unleash your imagination, spontaneity, confidence. Discover how to create characters, stories, and scenes on the fly. Laugh-out-loud fun!

Why Go: The Powder Keg Pub and Seafood Cafe is hosting its second annual Spring Swing, a golf tournament for women and mixed-foursome teams to help raise money for The Breast Cancer Society.

 Where/When: , 109 Civic Dr, Hercules; Saturday 2 p.m.

Why Go: The newest book by Arcadia Publishing in its "Images of America" series is about Hercules. Be one of the first people to buy a copy of the book that was created in conjunction with the Hercules Historical Society. Author Jennifer Posedel will be on hand for a discussion and autographs.

Where/When: 601 Marina Vista Ave, Martinez; Saturday, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Why Go: Take the kids to this free event to celebrate all things train. There will be a jumpy house, model trains and giveaways.
