Richmond Man Who Was Shot to Death Monday Identified

Police believe at least two people were involved in the shooting, since two males were spotted running away from the scene, Lt. Bisa French said.

A man who was shot and killed in Richmond on Monday afternoon has been identified as 20-year-old Lincoln Plair, a Contra Costa County coroner's deputy said.

The Richmond resident was gunned down around 3:40 p.m. in the 600 block of Sixth Street, according to police. 

Officers responded to the area after receiving alerts from the city's ShotSpotter gunshot detection system.

Plair was pronounced dead at the scene.  

Police believe at least two people were involved in the shooting, since two males were spotted running away from the scene, Lt. Bisa French said.

Officers searched for the suspects Monday, but were unable to locate them. No arrests had been made in connection with the killing as of this morning.

The young man's death was Richmond's second murder this year.
